Alright so here is where we are….
– Our fast shipment has arrived in the Netherlands and is going to storage in country. (Yea! Toy Trains! Clothes! )
– Our slow (boat) shipment has left Colorado but we have no further update. We are assuming its on track. (We are optimists.)
– Our car left Texas in route for the Netherlands.
– We have scheduled our driver’s course & test, which are needed in order to pick up our car and drive home. We downloaded the packet on Dutch road laws and are in the process of studying.
– We are officially half way through our USA Farewell Tour. We are having a great time seeing family and friends and traveling with the kids. So far we have spent the bulk of our time in Atlanta, but have also visited Disney World, Rome, GA & Washington, DC.
– We have a rental house (more on that to come) near Delft. (Huge sigh of relief.)
– I (sometimes) remember to do my Duolingo language learning on my iphone… I’m really going to focus on that on the boar… right?
I’m feeling pretty good about things right now! Phew… now off to the pool before I start to think about all the things that still need to be done.

We are enjoying reading about your adventures! You guys will have a blast! What memories you will make and experiences you all will have…. it’s awesome. Hugs to you all and safe travels. You have a beautiful family. I hope to meet your kids in person someday.
Shark and Mrs. Shark
Thanks so much for checking in on us! We are always thinking about y’all and our wonderful time together. I’m sure our paths will cross again soon. We are excited for the adventure ahead, but in that coast mode as we try to enjoy the remaining time with family and then the trip over.
Best of luck with your move. I relocated to the Netherlands last month and I’m loving it so far!
Thanks Katie! I’m getting very excited.
We are in the process of relocating to Rotterdam end of November. I didn’t know we could take our cars with us as my husband couldn’t find anywhere to service it as it is an American car… how will you get yours serviced there?
I am quite nervous about our move so would love to hear more about your thoughts on the Netherlands and the whole adjustment process once you are all settled!
Would be fun to meet up once we are there in the New Year at some point in time!!!
Salma. Thanks so much for reading. We have a Honda Civic and there are other Honda’s here so it shouldn’t be a problem. We were advised to send over frequently replaced things like oil and air filters. We put a few in the trunk of our car. Also if we have a major repair they will order the part, although we are taking a risk with knowing the car. I will certainly keep you posted on the adjustment process. So far everyone has been so kind and helpful.
