Cafe du Midi

Cafe du Midi is our absolute favorite find here in Delft. This unassuming little cafe lies on the outskirts of Delft. You have to pass through Delftse Hout (the woods) to reach it.
We discovered Cafe du Midi at the fall farm festival. Jeff and H stopped by to grab a snack while I biked up from the house after O’s nap. Since then we continue to go back.
At first we thought it was just a great place to meet Jeff for an after-work drink and snack. The kids played happily in the yard with the goats while we sat in the outdoor seating enjoying a beer.
Then one day time got away from us so we stayed for dinner. We were amazed. The menu is local and seasonal. By local, I mean that they source lots of their ingredients from the farm next door, Hoeve Biesland. Everything we have ever tried there is amazing. The kids are welcome, even now that the weather has changed and we have to sit inside.
I’ve even run into Olga in the restaurant with her family. She blogs at the European Mama.
I would recommend making a reservation, unless you’re headed there at an off time. In the summer there is plenty of space but once it is too cold to sit outside the restaurant fills up fast. You can make a reservation online.
