Knus: Delft Boat House, Playground & Restaurant

Knus, or as H calls it “the boat house” is basically the most perfect place for mom and kids when the weather is nice. I had no idea why it was constantly where we met for the first few months here, but now I know it is because the warm weather is fleeting.
The playground is packed full of things the kids love. There is a tall slide, a maze, a large sandbox and a water play area. There’s even an old paddle boat you can climb into.
The only downside is that the playground has direct access to the lake. If your kids are prone to bolting, they could find themselves in the lake. In fact an adjacent playground actually sort of extends into the water.
Knus has delicious foot and reliably good coffee. They have cute cups they serve the kids drinks in which just makes it more fun.
They also have paddle boats you can rent. We never got around to doing that last summer but it is high on our to do list after our successful paddle boating at Plaswijckpark.
I love reminiscing about our warm weather adventures and dreaming of returning when the weather warms. Knus is open on weekends for the winter season and they have some toys and books inside for the kids, so it’s not a total loss if you’re only in Delft when the weather is bad.
I cant wait! And Fun fact: the playground isnt owned by the cafe. Its owned by the city, so even when its closed you can still play there. You can even pack your own lunch and eat it at the benches bordering the playground by the maze. Those are the “self serve” tables.
