Kid Friendly Hotel, Hasliberg Switzerland

We hit the hotel jackpot with this lovely little hotel we found in Hasliberg, Switzerland, a sleepy little mountain town. Whenever we find a great place to stay with the kids I want to shout it from the mountain top! It can be so hard to find great lodging for our family of five…well six when we are traveling with my mom!
Hotel Reuti looks like your quintessential mountain top chalet. The place looks brand spanking new, despite being open for several years. We literally felt like we were the first visitors, as everything was in such great shape.
Despite being on a mountain Hotel Reuti is incredibly easy to reach. The hotel can be reached by car, and has free parking. The local bus stop is also just outside the hotel. We arrived by cable-car from Meiringen, simply walking across the street from the station to the hotel.
When we arrived the boys settled right in playing with the oversized Cuboro track in the lobby. (This is one of our absolute favorite toys we’ve discovered in Europe. Cuboro is made in Switzerland!) We were poured a glass of sparkling wine to enjoy while we finished the check-in process.
We booked two rooms – a double room for my mom and a suite for the rest of us. The rooms are all marked with an animal in addition to the room number, which the kids just loved.
The suite could not have been more perfect for us. The main bedroom faced the back of the building and was quite dark, perfect for naps and keeping kids sleeping in the morning. There was plenty of space to put the Phil & Teds crib up in the room as well.
The front part of the room had a pull-out sofa bed, a full table and a kitchenette. The bathroom and large closets were between the two rooms. Plenty of space for our family and our stuff!
The balcony was spacious and had the most gorgeous views. This balcony was perfect for hanging out while the kids were sleeping and after dinner.
Breakfast at the hotel was included in our room rate. It was a buffet with plenty of options and coffee made to order – perfect. We never felt rushed and they had a baby chair available.
We also made a dinner reservation for our first night on the mountain. This was perfect. They had a wide variety of food, but we also tried the fondue, served with traditional bread and potatoes. Yummy! We did not check out the bar and outdoor seating, but plenty of other people were out there having a great time. There was live music one of the nights during our stay but we were exhausted from our time exploring the mountains.
The town has a small grocery store where we picked up provisions. The hotel staff also made recommendations for our other dinners, so we didn’t feel trapped at the hotel.
Hotel Reuti has a variety of packages and deals available as well, so it’s worth checking out no matter what season you are heading to Switzerland. We cannot say enough good things about the staff and property. It certainly gets our vote as a family-friendly place to spend your trip. It is also conveniently located at the start of the the dwarf trails (Muggestutz), perfect for kid friendly hiking.
