We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring the kids to U-Picktopia. An hour north of Tampa, this farm allows you to pick just about everything if you time it right.
Farm visits play a large role in our homeschooling. We like to give the kids as many opportunities as we can to see how our food grows. While we have a small garden in our backyard, larger farms turn out better produce in larger quantities.
At UPICKTOPIA everything that is in season is available for picking. Park in the dirt lot and head behind the house for a price list and bucket. (Remember the prices include the experience of picking!)
There are two giant rope swings that the kids are sure to love. There is also a wine tasting room sampling fruit wines. Our kids had such a great time they chomped right into some peppers as soon as we purchased them. (Which you can do because they don’t use any nasty pesticides, so you can eat everything right off the plant.)

It is safe to say that the kids had a great time. And clearly so did I, taking photos of all the pretty plants!
