Normandy’s D-Day Sights With Kids

When we decided to rent a camper van and stay on farms as part of France Passion, we knew this trip would go against our normal overly-planned style.  Instead of a full itinerary, we highlighted some “must see” sights and went from there. We knew we wanted to see the D-Day sights that lie on …

RV Life: Our First RV Adventure

This trip started as most of my crazy ideas do, with a Pinterest post. Next thing we knew Jeff was off looking at rental RV’s that would fit our family of five. I read everything I could find about installing car seats into RVs and finally we decided just to go for it and reserve …

RV Adventure with France Passion

I found France Passion the way I discover most crazy travel ideas – through Pinterest! While Googling ideas for a French RV trip I ran across this article from Beer and Croissants about staying on farms in a motorhome while traveling around France. I was instantly intrigued. We had toyed with renting a camper van …

Keukenhof Day Trip with Kids 2017

When you’re living in the Netherlands you can’t miss a flower season, even if a trip to Keukenhof is considered “touristy.” This year my mom and her friend came into town to see the blooms and I was more than happy to show them around. With my Big Little in school for the day, I …

Weekend in Prague with Kids

Our trip to Prague got off to an interesting start. The normally dependable NS Intercity Direct from Rotterdam Central to Schiphol was more than 10 minutes delayed. We had plenty of time but we were all worried it was an ominous start to our trip. We flew out of Terminal M, a new terminal at Schiphol for …

Sintra & Coastal Portugal with Kids

We knew that no trip to Portugal would be complete without some time spent on the coast so we set our sites on Sintra and the surrounding area.   Its about a three hour drive to Sintra from Porto. The boys got hungry around 11:30 and we did not want to mess around with trying …

In 2017, Kinder Museum Nacht Den Haag was held on Saturday March 18th. The yearly event opens about 20 museums after-hours with special kids programming. We like to put floats in on one side and make our way across the lagoon. The walking path along the lagoons is perfect for taking a stroll.

The only downside is the parking situation and the lack of affordable public parking.

The Bullship race was a great way to kick off race sailing. This for fun race does not take its self seriously. You compete for awards focused on being in the middle of the pack, coming in last and spending the most time capsized.

Thanks to the @pearlharboryachtclub for welcoming the boys and giving them a place to try new things and find an amazing group of friends.

We were lucky enough to come across this group of jellyfish. The current and tides bring them into the bay. The narrow opening makes it difficult to leave, so they end up in a smack!

Only about 30% of summer visitors get to see Denali fully out, and today we got one of those rare, crystal-clear views…from the Alaska Railroad.

Watching her appear outside the train window is one of those moments we’ll be talking about for a long time.
