Windmills. Quintessentially Dutch. There are under one thousand historic windmills left in the Netherlands. Kinderdijk is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 19 historic windmills. These windmills were used to pump water out from the land, which rests up to 7 meters below sea level. A diesel/electric pump hooked to an Archimedes screw now does the …

Last night we got this gorgeous view when we turned Henry’s run into a reason to meet him at the beach, watch some planes take off, enjoy this beautiful snorkel and of course everyone ended up in the water.

We were lucky enough to come across this group of jellyfish. The current and tides bring them into the bay. The narrow opening makes it difficult to leave, so they end up in a smack!

From the high decks of the ship it looks like a cloud or discoloration in the water. When you get closer to the waterline - from the skiff or kayak - it’s a whole new world.

We spent a lot of time in the wheelhouse with Captain Andy, even after years of sailing these waters, his breath was taken away.

The smaller ship meant we could get into some of these small bays and sail past this landscape slowly and close to waterline.

I can’t wait to show you what our last seven days looked like. They were full of bushwhacking, bones, whales and lots of cold water play!

This entry to LeConte glacier though was a highlight for me.

Only about 30% of summer visitors get to see Denali fully out, and today we got one of those rare, crystal-clear views…from the Alaska Railroad.

At 20,310 feet, Denali is the tallest mountain in North America. Today it looked more like a painting than a mountain.

Watching her appear outside the train window is one of those moments we’ll be talking about for a long time.

Taking the train from Anchorage to Denali gave us a chance to slow down and actually see Alaska. Rivers, forests, mountains, and wildlife we would have missed from the highway.

Places like this remind me how lucky we are to have wild spaces that still feel truly wild, and how important they are to protect.

If you’re heading to Denali, I’d take the train again in a heartbeat.

The big winner from today though was the 11 mile (22 mile round trip) coastal trail. We picked up our bikes from @pablosbikerentals this morning (reservations encouraged) and headed out on this gorgeous trail. We saw so many birds, two moose and even a brown bear that scared us when it ran across the trail! You can end your ride at a lovely playground and some yummy burritos!

One of the coolest Oʻahu adventures? Kayaking to t One of the coolest Oʻahu adventures? Kayaking to the Mokes and swimming in Queen’s Bath.

Queen’s Bath is a natural tide pool carved into lava rock on Moku Nui, the larger of the Mokulua Islands. On calm days, the water is crystal clear and the views are unreal.

Getting there means a 1-mile kayak from Lanikai Beach to Moku Nui, followed by a short walk across the island’s rocky terrain.

A few things to know:• Only go when ocean conditions are calm.• Wear water shoes—the lava rock is sharp and slippery.• Bring plenty of water and sun protection.• Respect wildlife and stay on marked paths. The Mokuluas are a protected seabird sanctuary. (You might even run into a Monk Seal like we did.)

The paddle is beautiful, but floating in a natural pool in the middle of the Pacific is unreal!

Have you made it out to the Mokes yet?
